O Allah, take us to the month of Ramadhan – ConsultSyariah.com

The month of Ramadan is so close. There are only a few hours between us and this moon. We have all cried out in our hearts: “Finally you have come, O figure full of goodness.”

We are all waiting for it. We prepare provisions to welcome it, even though we have different goals and preparations, we all wait for it with longing and enthusiasm.

Who among us thought we wouldn’t fast during Ramadan? Who among us is sure that we won’t reach the month of Ramadan? Of course there isn’t. We all think he will do this and that in the month of Ramadan. Our plans and thoughts are different, but we are all the same, we feel confident that we will do this and that in the month of Ramadan, we will fast, perform Tarawih prayers, perform Umrah, give alms, give food to break the fast, or stay in touch, and some of us plan to watch films. Many of us will spend the day and night either praying or watching special Ramadan soap operas which are specially prepared for this month.

We jot down a shopping list of what we need for a long fast. However, none of us prepare provisions to die before this glorious month of Ramadan!

A few days ago a young man who was not yet 20 years old died in a traffic accident. At that time, he wanted to go to where his family lived, because he was a migrant for work. The accident occurred when he was on his way home to spend the blessed month of Ramadan with his family.

The accident left us shaken, even though we didn’t know it, but the tragedy that occurred was enough to instill fear in our hearts. Imagine, what was that young man thinking at that time? What did he dream about? What is he planning? What does he intend to do during this fasting month?

Think about all the possibilities you can think of, whether good or bad. His return journey had no more than a few miles left for him, but his course changed instantly at the will of the Determinant of Death.

Think about how his mother became his only family after his father left. Certainly all her mother’s hopes were attached to her, there is no doubt about it. He waited, hoped, and planned, when his child came home, he would do this and that, go here and there.

Think about all the possibilities you can think of, whether good or bad. Your eyes will not be able to shed tears because of sadness, pain, worry, alertness, repentance, or anything else. Just imagine, if you were in that young man’s position, with what provisions would you go? Where will it be buried? Under what circumstances will be resurrected? Or if you were in that mother’s position, what would you do? How do you feel?

Glory be to Allah who created the pen, then said to him: “Write!” Then the pen wrote the fate of all things.

No, this is a reminder, so anyone who wants can remember it.

“Never! It’s indeed a warning. So whoever wants it, will definitely take a lesson from it.” (QS. Abasa: 11-12).

O Allah, there is no rejection of Your decrees.

We all always repeat the prayer: “O Allah, grant us the month of Ramadan.” But deep inside us, have we ever realized that we might not make it to the month of Ramadan? So what have we prepared to welcome Ramadan, apart from food, drinks, visiting plans, as well as entertainment programs and series?!

A wise man is one who condemns himself and works for what happens after death.

“An intelligent person is a person who reckons (evaluates) himself and makes good deeds for life after death.”

What do we do after death? We know that death comes suddenly, and graves are treasures.

There is no house a person can live in after death, except the house he built before he died.

Whoever builds it with goodness will have a comfortable place to live, and whoever builds it with evil, then the builder will be disappointed.

So what have we done for life after death? Even though we all know that death will come suddenly, and the grave is like a charity box.

There is no house a person can live in after death, except the house he built before he died.

A person has no place to live after death, except the place where he wakes up before death (with good deeds).

Whoever builds it with goodness will have a comfortable place to live, and whoever builds it with evil, then the builder will be disappointed.

Whoever builds it with goodness, the place where it lives is good, And whoever builds it with evil, woe to the one who builds it.

Ramadan is an opportunity to rebuild, renovate and strengthen the building, and remove the broken bricks.

It is said that there was a king who ordered his three ministers to collect the best fruit in bags that had been distributed to them. The first minister chose the best fruit. The second minister was too lazy to carry out his king’s orders, so he only collected what he had, some good and some not. Meanwhile, the third minister ignored the king’s orders, so he only collected fallen leaves. The king then ordered the three ministers to be imprisoned along with their respective pockets for three months. In your opinion, which of them is lucky? Of course he carried out the order as well as possible.

Try to build as well as possible from the start, filling your pockets with the best deeds and words. If you fill it with anything other than that, then this opportunity will turn around to attack us in a bad way.

Don’t waste the opportunity to elevate your status, improve yourself, and achieve the approval of your Lord.

And Allah will increase guidance for those who receive guidance, and good deeds that still exist. They are better with your Lord in reward and better in reward.

“And Allah increases guidance for those who receive guidance. And good deeds that last, the reward is better with your Lord and better in the end.” (QS. Maryam: 76).

Ramadan comes to us bringing good news in the form of forgiveness and mercy. When the new moon appears, what do we prepare for it? Have we made increasing faith part of our plan? Is preaching also part of it? Have we thought about what we might offer to Islam and Muslims this month? What about orphans and the poor? Also relatives and close family?

Did you know that all Muslims throughout the world need your prayers without them knowing? Then will you pray for them? Do you know that the angels will agree to your prayer and reply by praying: “And may it be like that for you too”?

Have you ever thought about reciting the Koran along with appreciating it and reading the interpretation of its meaning this time, not just reading the letters? Are you planning to read a good book, useful for your religion or world affairs? Will you make a written schedule for this month setting out your targets? Have you ever thought about making a family study schedule, through this program you can share some of the goodness, benefits and knowledge with your family? Have you thought about quitting bad habits or immoral things that you always do, such as lying, smoking, looking for other people’s disgrace, backbiting, etc.? Have you thought about cleansing your tongue from sin and freeing it from the dirty words you usually speak?

If these things are not included in your target, then correct it again and improve your target again. Make matters of religion and the afterlife the most important thing in your targets, because by doing so you will benefit yourself. As for food in various types, entertainment in various forms, lowly soap operas, then really those are destroyers of thought patterns and destroyers of the virtues of this month.

Beware! Don’t allow anyone to take this opportunity away from you. Try to achieve blessings this month with all the gifts you have obtained. You will meet people who are ready to destroy your spirit and hinder you from your worship, namely the owners of television channels, gathering places, quizzes, markets and shops with all forms of advertising and persuasion. They had all been working for months before this month’s arrival. They plan, arrange schedules, organize, program, and pay for many things, all in order to take this goodness away from you.

So what have you prepared? When will you prepare? Did you know that with intention, you can achieve rewards, even if you haven’t put it into practice? Did you know that dead people will be resurrected according to their condition when they died? So what if your life was taken away while you were waiting for Ramadan, making plans to achieve its goodness, and preparing yourself to welcome it?

We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala to reach the month of Ramadan. O Allah, O Rahman! Take us to the month of Ramadan. Close the month of Ramadan for us with forgiveness and salvation from hell.
